IT Asset Management Analyst
Description
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT assets, including hardware, software, and cloud resources.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of IT assets, from procurement and deployment to decommissioning and disposal.
- Track asset assignments, ensuring accurate documentation of ownership and location.
- Implement and enforce IT asset management policies, standards, and best practices.
- Coordinate data destruction with internal BRG contacts and vendors
- Monitor and manage software licenses, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements.
- Work with procurement and finance to optimize license renewals and reduce unnecessary costs.
- Conduct audits and reports on software usage, identifying risks of under- or over-utilization.
- Assist in IT asset procurement by evaluating vendor offerings and negotiating pricing.
- Coordinate with suppliers for hardware/software acquisition, ensuring timely delivery.
- Maintain vendor contracts, warranty records, and support agreements.
- Manage cost assignments and reporting of IT hardware, Cloud utilization, and software assets.
- Generate reports on IT asset inventory, lifecycle status, compliance risks, and cost optimization opportunities.
- Provide insights and recommendations for improving asset utilization and reducing expenses.
- Complete analysis in support of IT annual budget process
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.
- Identify opportunities to streamline IT asset management processes using automation tools.
- Work with IT teams to integrate asset tracking with ServiceNow, CMDB, or other ITSM platforms.
- Develop training and awareness programs for IT asset management best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in IT asset management, IT operations, or procurement.
- Strong knowledge of IT asset management principles, licensing, and compliance.
- Experience with ITAM tools such as ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow Software, or SCCM.
- Familiarity with software licensing models (Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or other reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- ITIL, IAITAM, or similar asset management certifications.
- Experience working in an enterprise IT environment.
- Knowledge of cloud asset management (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
