Tax Manager
Description
- Manage the preparation of tax return workpaper and forms prepared by external consultants for the consolidated corporate federal, combined and separate income tax returns
- Prepare and manage the quarterly tax estimates and tax return extensions
- Manage communication and correspondence with tax authorities and respond to tax notices
- Assist in year-end income tax provision preparation in house
- Assist the tax team with tax planning, tax audits, preparing reserve analysis and other projects/duties as assigned
- Review the filing of VAT/GST, and limited business license returns, property tax and sales & use tax returns
- Assist in special tax projects such as Country by Country Reporting and Pillar II Implementation
- Assist in international compliance, including preparation of Form 5471 and Form 8858
- Proactively monitor and provide support with research related to ongoing income tax and indirect tax issues as well as law changes to ensure that appropriate planning, compliance, and reporting actions are undertaken
- Proactively engage with other departments to help resolve tax issues and drive the business objectives forward
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- CPA preferred
- 5+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred), large corporation, and/or in the private sector, showing the ability to progressively assume additional responsibilities
- Should have expertise in corporate and multi-state income tax laws
- Should have basic knowledge of ASC740
- Ability to demonstrate job ownership and to manage tax compliance process from start to finish.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a time sensitive environment
- Experience researching tax issues, including the ability to analyze the issues and to clearly communicate the conclusions both orally and in writing
- Good organizational skills and ability to follow standardized workpaper
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with team members at all levels of the organization
- Team oriented, self-motivated and willing to take ownership of
- Familiarity with multi-state income, state nexus issues a plus
