Strategic Resource Planning Manager
Description
- Serve as a focal point for all consulting staff deployments on projects through a deep understanding of staff skills and developmental needs.
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of a new resource management system, including developing and executing communications and change management plan to ensure community-wide alignment and adoption.
- Design and deliver targeted resource management training programs for key stakeholders and users across all levels of the business, ensuring effective onboarding to the new resource management system and ongoing staff resourcing.
- Monitor and report on system usage, data quality, and user engagement, proactively identifying and addressing challenges to drive sustained adoption and continuous improvement.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of upcoming projects and assist in prioritizing them based on commercial importance and urgency.
- Proactively monitor utilization and capacity reports, flagging actions needed to ensure fair distribution of work.
- Monitor non-billable activities, ensuring prioritization of staffing demand.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of processes and tools to match project forecasts with capacity for determining necessary staffing levels.
- Analyze headcount data to identify skills gaps and future needs.
- Proactively determine long and short-term staffing needs and effectively communicate upcoming trends to leadership.
- Set up and conduct new hire onboarding calls for junior and senior staff to understand their skills and experience and outline key resourcing processes.
- Create and maintain a database of professional staff skills and experience in order to deploy on litigation matters and projects.
- Closely collaborate with Resourcing Coordinator, ensuring adequate sharing of resources across the EDI community.
- Analyze and manage large data sets to deliver operational results.
- Build strong relationships across the EDI community with internal stakeholders, including professional staff, experts, Operations, HR/Recruiting, and Finance teams to stay informed of industry trends, labor market conditions.
- Provide hands-on technical support and assistance with administrative tasks when required.
- Monitor and support timekeeping compliance and office attendance.
- As BRG grows, support the team to enhance our resourcing infrastructure and processes.
- 6-10 years of experience in a professional services/consulting/law firm environment;
- Previous resource management experience with a focus on workforce planning;
- Strong understanding of project management principles and practices;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to interact and work effectively with a wide range of people at all levels;
- Experience with workforce planning software and tools;
- Experience in creating training/user guides;
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven resourcing decisions;
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment;
- Comfortable with managing rapidly shifting deadlines and multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills;
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel); and
- High-quality organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
