Overview            

BRG Energy & Climate is seeking a senior operations (non client facing role) professional who will report to the Energy & Climate (E&C) community leadership team. This position will be based out of our Washington, DC office.    

This position requires a highly motivated problem solver with solid analytical, writing, presentation, research, and organizational skills, accompanied by a desire to advance within the organization. The work will involve both execution and oversight of client engagement work streams that will be quantitative and qualitative in nature for energy & climate related disputes.            

Responsibilities include management of junior staff, design of quantitative and economic/financial analysis, ground-up modeling of financial data and market data, drafting of written reports, quality control, development and presentation of expert reports, preparation of other client reports and presentations, contribution to client interaction, industry research, and support of business development.

Responsibilities            

  • Work with E&C leadership to drive strategy, financial performance and growth in revenue and profitability.
  • Act as a liaison between E&C leadership and critical corporate functions responsible for expert performance review, utilization, compensation and staff performance review and management.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing a tool for tracking and forecasting, on a rolling basis, the community’s financial performance.
  • Assist in other aspects of practice support as identified by E&C leadership.
  • Participate in planning strategic E&C meetings.
  • Lead various strategic initiatives identified by E&C leadership as well as assist in coordinating cross-practice initiatives.
  • Continue to improve internal communication efforts by working with leadership to describe the E&C community’s progress and vision of success and growth.
  • Work with BRG marketing to maintain current business development (BD) qualifications and collateral and track various BD budgets and requests for funding.
  • Work with BRG business development to develop, track, and coordinate Energy BD opportunities, including job pitches, new case opportunities, and marketing events.
  • Possible opportunity/option to support consulting work based on interest and skillset.

Executive and Staff Management Liaison            

  • For junior and senior staff, coordinate with BRG corporate for utilization management, annual performance, compensation, and bill rate increase processes.
  • Coordinate with BRG corporate with respect to Expert onboarding and performance management.

Budgeting and Reporting            

  • Coordinate annual budget process, including BD budgets, and monitor monthly results.
  • Maintain and disseminate various financial reports for the Community to be developed in conjunction with the E&C leadership team.

Qualifications:            

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree, MBA, CFA, or CPA a plus;
  • Minimum of six to ten (6-10) years of prior work experience;
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with ability to problem solve and think outside-the-box;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with clear and confident style;
  • Aptitude to develop insights and recommendations to business problems;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize changing work demands and learn quickly;
  • Mature presence, empathy, and intellectual curiosity;
  • Demonstrate strong project management, time management and organizational skills;
  • Handle sensitive information and preserve its confidentiality;
  • Strong understanding of managing relationships and developing solution-based proposals in a professional services environment; and
  • Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $200,000 per year
