BRG Retail Performance Improvement practice specializes in providing strategic, operational, and financial advice to private equity firms, management teams, boards of directors, investors, hedge funds, and other lenders in a wide range of complex situations. 

Comprised of experienced, hands-on professionals that are results-oriented and data-driven, the BRG Retail Performance Improvement practice collaborates with management teams and sponsors to deliver strategic options that maximize value for stakeholders.  Furthermore, the practice has deep operational experience to offer interim management to companies in need of C-Suite level experience and targeted surge resources, setting clients up for long-term future success.

Overview

The position is in the Retail Performance Improvement practice, which provides strategic, operational and financial advisory services to high-performing growth-oriented retail and/or consumer product companies. The ideal candidate should excel working in a team environment, on a diverse range of fast-moving assignments, and in an entrepreneurial environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Retail Performance Improvement (RPI) team and client personnel to achieve engagement objectives.
  • Utilize business, strategic, and analytical skills to perform tasks such as: financial modeling and analysis; operations and service strategy development, revenue growth; operational process and technology optimization; store labor planning and analysis; organizational design and assortment/inventory performance analysis.
  • Manage the junior team on multiple tasks across a consulting engagement including modeling and client presentations.
  • Develop content and lead the preparation of high quality, refined reports, written analyses, presentations, and other client deliverables.
  • Demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism, ethics, quality, and integrity.
  • Develop and lead innovative retail service offerings that are relevant for our retail and consumer clients.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a retail, direct to consumer or consumer goods environment and/or previous consulting with similar type clients.
  • Expertise one or more of the following functions: direct sourcing, product to market, consumer analytics, digital experience, marketing, personalization, digital commerce, back-office operations, distribution and transportation, store and omni operations, indirect procurement.
  • Experience with developing and managing financial and operational analysis as well as assisting to implement changes as result of analysis and observations.
  • Experience with improving working capital and financial performance utilizing systems, tools, and bridge solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or degree equivalent in Business, Accounting/Finance, Management, Engineering, Economics, Retail Management, Supply Chain, or related field. Master’s degree or MBA a plus;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with junior and senior team members, senior management and other stakeholders or professionals;
  • Expertise in financial modeling and analysis (particularly in Excel);
  • Creative thinker with the ability to synthesize both qualitative (‘the art’) and quantitative (‘the science’) inputs;
  • Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills with demonstrated experience in solving complex issues;
  • Ability to manage and/or analyze large volumes of financial and operational data;
  • Intellectual curiosity, self-starter, and ability to learn quickly;
  • High Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Teams;
  • Additional experience with Access, Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, and Python is a plus;
  • Ability to travel to clients as needed; and
  • Minimum 9+ years of experience within Corporate or management consulting industries.

Salary Range: $125,000 to $300,000 per year.
