Description

The Senior ServiceNow Business Analyst must have knowledge on how to plan, analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of operating programs. This resource must be able to use source data to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and business processes. They should also be able to use qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of the operations.  The Senior BA must be able to effectively manipulate data to present program status and make recommendations on improving business processes.

The Senior ServiceNow Business Analyst  may be responsible for the planning and day-to-day administration of the Service Mapping process, working with stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the inputs and outputs of Service Mapping.

This is not a technical role, though an understanding and knowledge of the ServiceNow ITOM suite would be beneficial in troubleshooting the map results and suggesting solutions to any issues encountered.

Responsibilities: 

  • Planning, implementing, upgrading, or monitoring security measures for the protection of computer networks and information
  • Ensuring appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure
  • Responding to computer security breaches and viruses
  • Gather and track application non-discoverable business information
  • Ratify service maps with IT managers and service owners • Ensure on-going quality of Service CIs and maps
  • Research and track the list of services to be mapped, maintaining a status of each through the mapping process util completion,
  • Establish and maintain a priority list of services to be mapped,
  • Obtain seed information entry points and access rights for each service
  • Work with ITOM team to run map creation,
  • Gain map signoff from IT managers and service owners

Requirements:

  • US citizenship 
  • ServiceNow ability to problem-solve and work well on a team
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding for object-oriented programming and software development
  • Experience in information system implementation or change efforts
  • Experience working with software design principals
  • Ability to develop based on provided functional specifications
  • Computer analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate with internal/external entities
  • Soft skills are key: communication, ability to manage workload, ability to tracking status, and ensure data completeness and accuracy in a large-scale project.
  • Must have 5 yrs. experience in IT Service Management 
  • Bachelors  computer science, information technology, engineering or business administration experience or equivalent experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience with systems engineering, networking, or systems administration
  • Experience with managing and monitoring an existing computing environment supporting multiple tenants
  • Experience with installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Experience in working with Hypervisors, Servers and Virtual Infrastructure, including VMWare, Hyper-V, Windows Server and Linux
  • Experience with network infrastructures, including Cisco, Juniper and Broadcom -Experience with managing inventory and licenses
  • Experience with building and maintaining networking and computing environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator (Not Required)
  • Experience with security related tools and/or discovery tools
  • Experience in service mapping, such as event management, ITOM, Orchestration, discovery tools/integrations with other data sources and manual input processes as necessary
  • Relevant ServiceNow qualifications, i.e., Service Mapping Fundamentals / Service Mapping Implementation
  • Experience and knowledge of ServiceNow ITSM and ITBM suite
  • Experience with discovery tools such as ADDM, BladeLogic, ScienceLogic, IBM Tivoli, SCCM, ServiceNow Service Watch
