UX Designer
This position is located in Carmel, Indiana.

JOB SUMMARY

The User Experience (UX) Designer will be responsible for envisioning the digital user experiences and will be an integral part of BraunAbility UX design process.  This position to create innovative UX concepts, generate storyboards, conceptualize designs and influence the visual design of our digital products (web and mobile).

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create appealing visual designs, mock-ups/prototypes, UX concepts and storyboards by understanding and defining user goals, scenarios, and work-flows; build designs that are holistic in nature, focusing on the end-to-end experience more than any specific feature(s)
  • Work closely and collaborate heavily with UX Architect to take their interface concepts to the next level by applying visual design principles and creating visual compositions from the basic wireframes.
  • Assist UX Architect in their UX projects, including usability tests and other user research activities
  • Build clickable prototypes from visual comps in programs (e.g., Axure) for usability testing
  • Convert brand and corporate identity into digital friendly format, including establishing style guides and visual standards for web/mobile websites and applications
  • Working with internal teams on how to identify and translate user needs into digital products /applications. 
  • Research and understand business and marketing goals, and creating design solutions to meet those goals.
  • Seek to improve job performance through self-assessment, skill development, training and goal setting
  • Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or a related design field

Experience

  • A minimum of five years of experience in interaction design is required. The ability to generate solid design ideas, and thorough understanding of user-centric design process is a must have. Should be able to demonstrate UX and interaction design skills through a portfolio/documented work examples.
  • Three years of experience using industry standard design tools, including Creative Adobe Suite required
  • Should have used following software's on daily basis:
    • For Interaction design – Visio, PowerPoint, Axure RP
  • Experience in front end technologies (like HTML5, CSS3 etc), responsive design, tablet and mobile apps and web analytics is required.

  • Salesmanship i.e. the ability to propose design ideas to a team including business sponsor, product manager, project manager, technical lead, and help the team negotiate the best decisions.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information. Complete knowledge and understanding of company’s principles, policies, procedures and standards.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment to make decisions toward the objective of satisfying all brands.
