JOB TITLE: Tournament Traveler – Brackets Associate
LOCATION: Tournament Site (Las Vegas, NV or Reno, NV)
POSITION TYPE: Temporary Full-Time
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Brackets Supervisor
WORK HOURS: Monday – Sunday (hours vary depending on tournament schedule), ability to work extended hours, as needed.
POSITION SUMMARY:
USBC is looking for dedicated, service-minded individuals to join our tournament traveler team as a Brackets associate. Brackets team members enhance tournament bowlers' competitive experience by offering participants an opportunity to participate in mini-tournaments and side-pots. Brackets Associates are instrumental in driving engagement and excitement throughout USBC Championship Tournaments, contributing significantly to their overall success.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage bowlers from sales windows – accurately tailor and process bracket orders, verify bowler data, and offer additional assistance/information.
- Financial accountability – Successfully maintain/balance a cash drawer.
- Accurately conduct cash and credit sales transactions.
- Correctly prepare end-of-shift drops.
- Engage bowlers on the floor – encourage participation (sales), product education, make announcements, stock and clean sales areas.
- Participate in regularly scheduled meetings and huddles. Keep tournament leaders apprised of department activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
• Bowling tournament and brackets knowledge.
• Ability to work nights and weekends, and special events.
• Superior customer service proficiencies-service-minded and engaged.
• Effective communication skills-ability to speak clearly and confidently.
• Focused–the ability to complete tasks accurately in a distraction-filled environment.
• Robust interpersonal skills–team player.
• Computer and communications literate-PC, phone systems, POS, and two-way radios.
EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or continual learning education.
- Must pass USBC’s Registered Volunteer Program (RVP) background screening and adhere to the Code of Conduct of the USBC Registered Volunteer Program (RVP).
- High volume cash handling experience.
- 10 Key by touch experience.
- Sales experience.
- Must always be neat and well-groomed, as this role will have frequent contact with guests, clients, and supporting staff.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be mobile as well as stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs.
TRAVEL: This position will require the employee to be on-site for the Championships, so relocation is required for up to 6 months at a time.
