JOB TITLE: Tournament Traveler – Check-In Associate
LOCATION: Tournament Site (Las Vegas, NV or Reno, NV)
POSITION TYPE: Temporary Full-Time
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Check-In Supervisor
WORK HOURS: Monday – Sunday (hours vary depending on tournament schedule), ability to work extended hours, as needed.
POSITION SUMMARY:
USBC is looking for dedicated, service-minded individuals to join our tournament traveler team as a Check-In Associate. Check-in team members are responsible for reviewing team entries with captains to ensure accuracy, eligibility, and compliance prior to competition. By managing the check-in process with precision and professionalism, Check-In Associates play a vital role in delivering a smooth tournament experience and contributing to overall participant satisfaction.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure entry accuracy – review squad times, roster, and division(s).
- Confirm customer data – review of contact information, membership, and average.
- Execute financial tasks – collect funds on membership sales, event sales, and balance dues.
- Apply tournament policy – Competition Compliance Form review (average and/or roster requirements).
- Participate in scheduled meetings and huddles, keeping tournament leadership informed of department activities and service challenges.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
• Familiarity with tournament bowling and bowling terminology.
• Superior customer service proficiencies-service-minded and engaged.
• Effective communication skills-ability to speak clearly and confidently.
• Robust interpersonal skills–team player.
• Ability to work nights and weekends, and special events.
• Focused–the ability to complete tasks accurately in a distraction-filled environment.
• Computer and communication system literate - PC, multi-line phone, two-way radios, and Microsoft Office.
EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or continual learning education.
- Must pass USBC’s Registered Volunteer Program (RVP) background screening and adhere to the Code of Conduct of the USBC Registered Volunteer Program (RVP).
- Experience working in a fast-paced service environment.
- Must always be neat and well-groomed, as this role will have frequent contact with guests, clients, and supporting staff.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs.
- Must be mobile as well as stand for extended periods.
TRAVEL: This position will require the employee to be on-site for the Championships, so relocation is required for up to 6 months at a time.
