Job Summary:

We are writing the next chapter of Bodbuilding.com, we are looking for a talented Marketing leader to help run our Social Media and continue to establish our unique community. This position is responsible for using social media channels to express the BBCOM brand promise effectively, and directly engage with consumers to promote and inspire confidence in our products.

You’ll increase brand awareness by building and engaging our social media community and by leveraging channel-specific content, sweepstakes, out-of-the-box thinking, social media best practices, events, partners, etc. 

In this role, you must demonstrate confidence and authority as a social media expert across the rest of the organization. In doing so you must be able to juggle the requests of multiple business units and marry those to the business needs to ensure ongoing alignment. This often means dealing with conflicting priorities and managing urgent timelines in a rational, collaborative and effective manner. you’ll research target audiences, develop content plans, work with creative on assets and graphics needed for social channels.

To be successful in this role, you’re passionate about the social space and a curious learner. You’re always ahead of the curve, analyzing trending topics and new social media platforms for future growth opportunities. Additional responsibilities include carrying out a variety of monitoring and analysis through social channels to gain customer insights and competitive intelligence. You will work closely with Customer Support to ensure customer support-focused conversations via social media channels are held to our high standards of best practices and customer satisfaction. We want you to execute and innovate daily which means pitching ideas, creating briefs, and building reports that showcase important business and social metrics.  

A Day in the life:

  • Define, own and execute platform specific social and community strategies across our key channels: Bodybuilding Forum, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Twitter... 
  • Develop KPIs and mechanisms to analyze the team's initiatives and its impact on business results
  • Own and develop community engagement strategy, defining best practices on how to effectively engage with our followers
  • Work cross-functionally, introducing processes and social best practices with others who utilize social media handles. (Paid team, partnerships, etc.)
  • Own social media calendar, collaborating with broader stakeholders to align on development and publishing of compelling campaigns.
  • Identifying opportunities, bloggers, partners, tools and trends in the social space and recommending the best course of action with justifiable metrics
  • Understanding current trends, technologies and advancements in social, mobile and online review sites
  • Working across departments, such as Customer Support, Merchandising, Display, PR, Creative, Partnerships, eComm, SEO, Email, etc.
  • Developing and creating annual and quarterly calendars that feature unique content for all brand's social media platforms
  • Developing a social strategy for content calendars; and creating a content plan based on photo and video needs
  • Fostering cross-functional relationships to drive channel impact 
  • The Paid Digital team manages paid social needs, but this role is expected to understand Audiences within Facebook in order to strategically test boosted posts and Like Ad campaigns
  • Maintaining consistent system of measurement and evaluation of social program success on a weekly basis
  • Keeping track of budgets, invoices and spend. Manage weekly, monthly and annual spend.
  • Managing social media publishing tools

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • At least 6+ years' experience with managing social media accounts, blogs, digital advertising and brand marketing 
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and other reporting tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mobile, emerging and social media, and application to advertising campaigns
  • Deep understanding of social media universe including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, IGTV, YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok, blogs, etc
  • Ability to adapt to the style, tonality and vernacular of the current "voice" of employee and consumer facing social media apps
  • Self-starter with the ability to assist in the planning, development, and implementation of projects/programs, with a measurement of success
  • Work well under pressure of deadlines
  • Technologically savvy with solid understanding of the web, online marketing, direct marketing and best social media practices
  • Lives in the Social Media space
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Photoshop, WordPress
  • A passion for heath and fitness is not required but it is a plus!
