Management Services Department


The Bermuda Monetary Authority (Authority or BMA) is seeking the services of a qualified and experienced individual to work as a Power Platform Developer within the Management Services Department. Reporting to the Lead Power Platform Developer, the Power Platform Developer will be responsible for the development and day-to-day maintenance and enhancements of the Power Platform application systems in test and production operations, including tasks related to identifying and troubleshooting application issues and producing a resolution or escalation. The postholder will also be involved in building solutions to monitor and evaluate projects using Power Platform, root cause analysis, management communication, and the Department’s relationship management in partnership with Infrastructure Service Support and Operations team members.


This is a key role for the Authority and the postholder will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Conducting technical and analytical work in developing, designing, and/or analysing technical solutions for departments
• Delivering services and solutions for departments using Microsoft’s Power Platform, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, custom development and data integrations
• Automating business processes with Power Apps and Power Automate; outputs will include data visualisation and low code solutions
• Identifying areas and processes where Power Platform and Microsoft 365 can be leveraged to facilitate process improvement
• Using various connectors to unify disparate systems with Power Platform solutions and making recommendations to guide the development of APIs for Line of Business applications that do not have native connectors
• Making suggestions for technical modifications to prevent future problems
• Ensuring all production changes are made in accordance with lifecycle methodology, version control, appropriate testing and risk guidelines
• Acting as an internal expert in the assigned system and being aware of what changes have been made to the base system
• Assisting in the evaluation, development and implementation of company systems, including custom-developed, off-the-shelf and/or hosted solutions
• Contributing across all phases of the software development life cycle
• Playing a critical role in delivering high-quality service and support to various levels of internal users
• Providing end-user training solutions to staff
• Creating intradepartmental hand-over material in accordance with the Authority’s release and deployment procedures
• Performing other related tasks and special projects as assigned by management in accordance with competencies normally associated with the post

This position requires a proven technical and business background, therefore, the postholder must have:


• A bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, management information systems or related field
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with software development practices, including three (3) years with Microsoft Power Platform solutions
• Core skills in C#, SQL, .Net, SharePoint Online, Microsoft DataVerse, Power Platform CoE and governance components
• Knowledge and experience with writing technical requirements, test scripts and knowledge of software programming languages and technologies
• Experience in designing complex common data models
• Knowledge of new technologies and awareness of industry standards, best practices and trends
• Familiarity with Agile project management and sprint planning
