The Bermuda Monetary Authority (Authority or BMA) is seeking the services of a qualified and experienced individual to work as a Strategic Communications and Engagement Specialist within the Corporate Affairs Department. Reporting to an Assistant Director, the Strategic Communications and Engagement Specialist will support strategic Corporate Affairs initiatives that strengthen stakeholder engagement, employee communications, non-regulatory advocacy, and organisational visibility. The postholder will work with internal departments and senior leadership, coordinate non-regulatory speaking engagements, corporate events, employee engagement activities, internal communications, and related briefing materials. Additionally, the incumbent is required to develop and coordinate communications content, including newsletters, reports, corporate documents, videos, and internal communiqués, while supporting digital platform updates, project coordination, stakeholder management, and timely delivery of key initiatives.
This is a key role for the Authority and the postholder will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Coordinating non-regulatory conferences, industry roundtables, tradeshow booths, financial literacy campaigns, public education initiatives and BMA-sponsored events
• Developing and managing event plans, including logistics, content, approvals, invitations, RSVPs, guest tracking, stakeholder engagement, and post-event communications
• Overseeing event delivery, including venue setup, audiovisual and multimedia requirements, signage, seating, registration, dietary requirements, welcome protocols, collateral, vendor coordination, onsite operations, event breakdown, and post-event issue resolution
• Creating sector-specific messages and translating complex regulatory matters into clear content for non-white paper regulatory publications, presentations, speeches, campaigns, and other outreach materials
• Managing the Authority’s presentations and speaking engagements calendar and coordinating with Technical Writers and the Communications Manager to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with corporate standards and key messages
• Supporting Assistant Directors with employee, staff engagement, culture-building, and change management communications to keep employees informed about organisational priorities, strategy, performance and key initiatives
• Supporting executive profiling and the public positioning of senior leadership, including arranging public speaking and presentation training for BMA spokespersons
• Coordinating across departments to gather information, secure approvals, meet deadlines, and support the successful delivery of Corporate Affairs initiatives
• Evaluating event outcomes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for areas of responsibility.
This position requires a proven technical and business background, therefore, the postholder must have:
• A bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, social media content creation, and campaign management
• Experience planning and executing corporate events, including logistics, stakeholder coordination, and post-event follow-up
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and build positive working relationships
• Working knowledge of basic graphic design tools, including Canva and InDesign, and experience supporting website content management
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment, work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain accuracy
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, creativity, reliability, accountability, ownership of work, flexibility, teamwork, strong attention to detail, and strong multitasking and organisational skills
