We are looking for a talented and experienced Manager, Shipping & Receiving who will ensure that Blue Nile product meets our quality standards and delivery commitments. The Manager, Shipping & Receiving is responsible for inbound and outbound shipping and maintaining the integrity of the facility as a well-organized, clean, high functioning and efficient operation.  He/she will coordinate and communicate shipment arrivals; delay issues and potential business impacts and oversee outbound shipping.


  • Customer focus and commitment driven with quality and safety as priorities.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute procedures so all product and components including custom-built diamond jewelry, pre-made jewelry and related materials are controlled accurately.
  • Perform and reconcile daily cycle count initiatives to include reporting and root cause analysis to improve inventory accuracy using Oracle
  • Point person and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all inbound and outbound shipments to Seattle Fulfillment Center. (Fed-Ex, UPS, Brinks, etc.)
  • Manage staffing based on workload, receive, pick, packed and shipped
  • Provides excellent customer service by ensuring order accuracy and timely delivery and communicating with Customer Support regularly, including any out-of-stock issues, delays, etc.
  • Create and implement work instructions and procedures
  • Drive corrective action to improve and maintain fill rate
  • Meet aggressive daily deadlines and high performance standards
  • Continually drive down unit costs by improving processes to maximize productivity and identifying ways to utilize technology and advanced equipment to improve operations
  • Drive continual improvement initiatives in reduction of TAT, improvement in material flow, improvement in visual management, improvement in 6S, and reduction of waste.
  • Effectively lead, manage and motivate employees
  • Communicate proactively and effectively with other Blue Nile departments and with outside vendors
  • Planning, preparing and executing a large volume of high value B2C shipments
  • Performs other related duties as required


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Business Operations (or equivalent) and minimum of 5 years of Management experience preferred.
  • Experience in a high-performance, short turn-time, manufacturing location critical.
  • Manufacturing experience within a regulated Quality Management System (QMS) preferred, but not critical.
  • Must have advanced computer skills and have proven experience understanding electronic processing.
  • Experience with E-Commerce direct to consumer fulfillment desired.
  • Results Oriented.
