Title: Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer
Location: McKinney, TX
Reports To: Sr. Director of Manufacturing
Shift: Day (Off Shift hours as required)
 
Summary –
The Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer is responsible for the implementation and leading the integration of continuous improvement programs for products, processes, people, and equipment system in the plant. The ideal candidate will have lean six sigma knowledge and experience, strong background in manufacturing, a proven track record of implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Pillars and continuous improvement methodologies, and excellent leadership skills to drive culture and initiatives. This role will report to the Sr. Director of Manufacturing and will work closely with Department Leaders in planning, coordination, analysis, and improvement of overall manufacturing processes.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Identify, analyze, and eliminate operational efficiency losses through the development of standards and systems. Implement methodologies to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for manufacturing lines.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) program plant wide and drive recommendations to completion, specifically in the areas of but not limited to: Safety, Product Safety and Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Unplanned Downtime, and Product/Material Losses. Train and coach team members as needed. Track RCAs for completion and communicate with team members regularly.
  • Drive structured process improvement initiatives to reduce/eliminate product waste (finished goods, raw materials, packaging).
  • Lead and coordinate Plant-wide comprehensive Process Improvement plan and project portfolios   in the areas of safety, quality, service, operational efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Facilitate, track, and communicate improvement results by reviewing regularly with the Team members, area owners and the leadership team.
  • Lead the Centerline System management, including its development, maintenance & leading management of change (MOC) initiatives.
  • Responsible for changeover activities including standard target setting, and leading successful efforts to reduce changeover time.
  • Analyze production times, work force utilization, workflow, space requirements, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Initiate cost reduction projects to reduce operating costs.
 
Education and/or Experience                                                               
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Preferably in Engineering, Business, Operations Management or related discipline.
  • Green Belt Certification required; Black belt certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Minimum of 2+ years CI experience leading focused and rapid improvement projects. Proven record of leading transformative projects required.
  • Experience with TPM Pillars.
  • Working knowledge of Industry/business principles and practices.
