 The salary range for this opportunity is $80,000-$90,000/year.  

Summary - Overall responsibility for Blount’s Safety programs, Hazardous Waste and Security at the Fall River plant, and safety support for the Warren plant, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees. This position takes a lead role in the overall awareness, delivery and commitment to corporate Environmental, Health and Safety programs.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Implementation and monitoring of facility safety programs and developing controls for all areas of risk.
• Oversee that all facility employees, contractors, and vendors are following facility programs.
• Maintain Safety reports, logs, and other documentation to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local agencies.
• Maintain an effective performance measurement process, relative to injury and incident performance.
• Develops, directs, and offers leadership to members of Safety committee. It is at the front of driving Safety within the facility.
• Responsible for injury management systems including accident investigations, corrective actions, workers compensation tracking and OSHA recordability. Communicates, offers recommendations, and acts on findings.
• Oversees Emergency Medical Response program including first responders, first aid and support structure and OSHA compliance standards.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all OSHA regulations.
• Organizes, and/or trains on all relevant and required facility Safety programs.
• Works with Supervisors to ensure that all JSA’s are current and develops new as needed.
• Stay involved and active with Insurance monthly meetings.
• Oversees general Security issues, matters and events including on-site third-party security staff, access control, video surveillance program, reporting and termination assistance.
• Oversee Haz Waste program including manifest, cradle to grave, accumulation and EPA compliance.
• Responsible for Tier II environmental reporting and compliance.
• Oversee and direct the Safety Supervisors. Ensures productive and effective results from the Safety Supervisor position.  

Requirements and Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in a related field preferred; or two to three years’ related experience (OSHA General Industry in manufacturing); or equivalent combination of related education and experience. 
• 3 years OSHA or Safety experience required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
• Ability to make connections and articulate ideas

• Ability to multi-task with changing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
