Summary
This position requires an individual who is able to work in a busy environment, possesses solid communication skills, is detail oriented and very organized.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Needs to be able to execute all truck scheduling, deliveries, pickups and incoming freight.
- Ensures proper allocation of trucking resources.
- Ensures most efficient and cost-effective transportation decisions.
- Communicates effectively with Sales and Production, to fulfill all sales/shipping requirements. Including shipping delays and/or product rejection.
- Helps to assist in processing of freight claims and communicates with accounting on returns.
- Gathers all info for outbound transfers for all warehouses.
- Schedules PO’s that are requested by purchasing to be picked up.
- Schedules trucks LTL and truck loads daily
- Utilizes TMS system for automation of truck scheduling and tracking shipments and keeps track of excel reports for tracking shorts and on time deliveries to customers.
Education and/or Experience
- 1-2 years of experience scheduling and routing drivers in the transportation industry.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail skills, strong multi-tasker.
- Must be organized.
