Shift 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
Summary:  Assists Quality Assurance Management in the maintenance of overall product quality and safety. Assures the effective completion and documentation of Quality Assurance responsibilities.
 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receives daily direction from QA Sr. Tech and Management.
  • May perform daily activities related to HACCP, SSOP and other QA related records to assure conformance to requirements.
  • Audits HACCP documentation to ensure all records are correct, complete, and filed
  • Routinely sees production activities to assure consistency and conformance to standards, as well as supplying improvement suggestions.
  • Acts when non-conformances are noted, including placing products on hold, and starting root cause investigations and completing food safety incident/deviation reports
  • Assists Quality Management with collecting and inputting data and aiding with the generation of reports.
  • Must be able to interpret testing data related to production specification and make decisions
  • Assists Quality Management with incident investigations by collecting and reviewing information and generation of reports.
  • Maintain finished product ON HOLD database.
  • Aid with compliance to GFSI standards by completion of internal audits weekly.
  • Complete daily GMP audits of production activities to assure conformance to programs. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 
  • Conducting Daily, Weekly and Monthly tasks 
  • Execute visual, microbiology and chemistry tests on raw materials, water sources, in-process samples, environmental samples, and finished products
  • Generates formal complaints for the raw material suppliers. 
  • Maintaining laboratory records, MSDS, GLPs, and inventory of laboratory supplies
  • Be able to perform all tasks assigned to QA Technician Level 1 
  • Other duties with similar skills, work conditions, and responsibilities as assigned.
 
Responsibilities for Food Safety 
  • Completed required paperwork accurately and honestly.
  • Must adhere and enforce posted GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) when working within the production facility.
  • Responsible for reporting suspicious packages, activities and individuals.
  • Monitoring of CCPs (Critical Control Points) and adhere to approved HACCP plan(s).
 
Education and/or Experience   
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) in a related field or equivalent from two-year College or technical school preferred; or 1 + years related quality assurance experience correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively both written and oral with members of multiple departments.
 
 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 
  • This position requires a valid driver’s license, pre-employment and annual screening of Motor Vehicle Record and personal automobile insurance coverage by the Blount Fine Foods Employee Handbook. Individual must be capable of obtaining HACCP certification within twelve months of hire.
 
  • Must have strong attention to detail. Must have moderate computer skills. No known allergies to seafood or other foods.
 
Physical Demands 
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee must regularly stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee must often use hands to finger, handle, or feel and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must often lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
