Summary:
This role will be responsible for building, driving and executing brand presence and demand growth across every consumer interaction including media, retailers, digital and physical. To accomplish this the person in this role will manage, lead and execute all media, advertising, and activation efforts across our portfolio of food brands both licensed and owned. This role blends brand marketing, shopper marketing, paid media, and omnichannel activation with the goal to create integrated campaigns that build awareness, drive conversion, repeat purchase and increase household penetration. This role will work in partnership with Blount’s brand management and creative teams, outside brand partners and media and promotional vendors in the development, execution and communication of all media recommendations, and be responsible for management, oversight, execution, priority setting, budgeting and results.
This person should have experience and knowledge of media and CPG marketing strategies and will be required to develop and maintain a strong knowledge of brand’s objectives, challenges and goals along with applying and measuring media to help deliver against the brand’s annual and long-term growth goals and sales budgets.
Essential Duties:
Campaigns and Media Strategy and Execution
- Media Planning and Buying - Develop full-funnel annual media and activation plans that align brand objectives with consumer, shopper, and category insights. Manage all paid media channels and omnichannel activities across a portfolio of brands, including retail media, digital, CTV, search, audio, OOH and other. Maintain accurate budget control and flow of media activity and update teams and stakeholders on timely/consistent basis. Demonstrate strong understanding of online media fundamentals, including media math, target audience development, and communication goals (reach/frequency).
- Campaign Planning Development and Execution - Lead the creation from brief development to the execution of integrated campaigns, including creative development, flighting, channel optimization, and cross-functional alignment ensuring consistent storytelling and seamless connection between brand-building and conversion-driving activities in partnership with the brand teams.
- Vendor Management & Accountability - Be the main media and ad partner day to day contact managing partnership relationships and day to day operations including invoices, spend tracking and reporting, results reporting, optimizations and internal/vendor communications. Also be the Blount expert for which partners to do more with, which to pull back from and which to bring into the marketing mix.
- Marketplace, Competition, Trends and insights - Continuously monitor competitive activity and media trends, applying relevant findings to strengthen business strategies. Collaborate with Consumer Insights and Brand to leverage data for smarter campaign briefs and targeting. Regularly analyze category trends, ad activity and competitor launches in soups, mac and cheese, chili, prepared meals, pot pies, flatbread pizza, and related food and beverage segments to help Blount stay proactive and competitive.
Performance Measurement, Optimization & Reporting
- KPI Development and Monitoring - Lead the development, monitoring, and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) for all advertising and media activities. Define measurable KPIs tailored to each program, ensuring that campaign activations are consistently evaluated against predetermined expectations and benchmarks.
- Campaign Performance Tracking - Track campaign performance across all channels, focusing on brand metrics, media efficiency, reach, frequency, return on ad spend (ROAS), and sales impact. Regularly assess the effectiveness of each campaign and recommend optimizations based on performance data.
- Reporting and Insights - Develop comprehensive reports and actionable insights supported by research and analysis. Use these findings to inform audience targeting, media selection, and overall campaign strategy, driving growth and holding partners and expenditures accountable.
- Performance Dashboards and Recaps – Create and deliver regular performance dashboards and program recaps to stakeholders, providing clear guidance for future campaign optimizations, strategic decision-making and results.
- Media and Marketing Plan Execution - Oversee the execution and tracking of media and marketing plans, including spend management, performance evaluation, and campaign results analysis. Maintain accountability for the performance of ad partners and ensure that all activities align with strategic objectives.
- Budget Management and Documentation - Maintain up-to-date campaign documentation, including media flowcharts, budget trackers, and authorizations. Manage budgets, timelines, forecasts, and agency scopes of work to ensure efficient and effective campaign delivery.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Blount Teams Integration and Coordination - Work closely with Brand, Creative, Sales, Category Management, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure that business planning is fully integrated across all functions aligning objectives, sharing critical information, and achieving seamless execution of initiatives ensuring that all campaign launches occur on schedule and as planned.
- Partnership Management – Be the main contact managing all advertising/media partnerships across campaigns and strategic initiatives ensuring that partnership opportunities are fully leveraged and integrated into broader business objectives. In partnership with VP of marketing and Brand Management teams manage planning and activation objectives with licensed brand outside partners. Also assist in keeping licensed partners up to date on media calendars and results as appropriate on bi-weekly status calls.
- Stakeholder and Agency Communication - Lead the communication and alignment process between internal stakeholders and external agencies and partners. This ongoing dialogue fosters clarity, alignment on expectations, and unified direction for all parties involved.
- Additional Responsibilities - Carry out other responsibilities that require similar skills, working conditions, and levels of responsibility as assigned, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in support of organizational goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in media, marketing or related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 5-7 years working media experience in the CPG industry.
