Summary
Blount Fine Foods is North America’s leading family-owned manufacturer of refrigerated soups and sides. This role supports the broad creative needs of a growing Consumer Product food organization, including food packaging, branded content, sales materials, digital and print advertising, social media, and more. The Graphic Designer leads the creative and technical development and execution of assets for Blount’s owned and licensed brands across internal and external applications. Responsibilities include packaging creative and ingredient and nutrition panel design, visual brand assets, advertising, sales and B2B materials, print collateral, web creative, item photography, and other business needs. Success requires strong adobe suite skills, advanced knowledge of design principals, color modes (RGB, CMYK and PMS) and prepress requirements, exceptional attention to detail, strong communication and hands-on design expertise. This role as part of the marketing department and works collaboratively with Sales, Innovation, R&D, Communications, Production, and external vendors and suppliers. The role combines creativity, project management, business acumen, and design leadership to deliver initiatives across Blount’s portfolio. A love of soup is also essential!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Package Design, Development & Management
- Create, influence, update and manage the design and development of packaging including Blount owned, licensed and private label brands for Blount products from inception to completion. This includes the branded packaging assets and technical portions such as nutritional panel, ingredient statement and back panel instructions.
- Prepare and present concepts and early drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders, incorporating feedback and making necessary adjustments to designs from conception to final working files.
- Work in partnership with the Regulatory team to ensure packaging meets all legal requirements for FDA/USDA and identify efficiencies in the process.
- Maintain strong file management systems through archival of collected packaging and creative files.
- Manage and see through design timelines in partnership with the commercialization team and business needs and goals.
Design, Creative Activation and Brand Identity
- Create, develop and execute graphic and visual assets in partnership with the brand teams for various projects including but not limited to ad campaign media assets, digital and print materials, consumer and industry focused advertisements, brochures, posters, social media content, retail media content, website imagery and more.
- Help brand teams with branding of Blount initiatives including logo design, collateral, print, website and digital media.
- Support cross-functional team’s and organizational graphic and collateral requests
- Execute photoshoots / video shoots as needed either internally for smaller project needs or help guide external vendors in brand specific needs and guidelines.
- Help create, execute and keep up to date visual identities for Blount-owned and licensed brands in partnership with brand teams, senior leadership, and licensing partners.
- Support brand & product launches, using design strategically to facilitate sales growth.
- Collaborate with team members to develop creative and innovative ways to get consumers engaged / increase brand awareness.
Sales Support
- Ensure POS materials like selling and item specs sheets are up to date and support sales team graphic needs for customer and selling initiatives including visual assets on materials and accurate item information.
- Create packaging mock-ups as required by sales for customer meetings, tradeshows and other initiatives.
- Support tradeshow graphic design needs for items such as booth graphics, POS materials, mock-ups, etc.
- Assist in management of Graphic Portal for kettle and kettle card instore programs.
- Assist in the creation of sales meeting decks / materials as needed.
Other
- Assist Executive Leadership team with strategic presentations and ad hoc projects.
- Work with teams to create branded SWAG for various channels.
- Manage creative vendor network and possible budgets associated with them.
- Anticipate and participate by seeking opportunities to be thoughtful to design trends, concepts and design process improvement to help expand Blount design capabilities, point of view and to stay up to date with current design trends.
Experience/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphics design, business, communications or marketing and/or related experience is preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years CPG package design, ad design and creative project management and/or similar experience
- Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), Canva
- Experience with:
