Anthology’s Student Development team focuses on using both industry standards and cutting-edge technologies to develop innovative solutions that are essential to our user’s success. Anthology is seeking a skilled Senior Test Automation Engineer be responsible for building, testing, configuring, and deploying automation test code in complex environments. As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will play an integral role in the success of the Student Development team within Anthology. A successful candidate will be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and implement software solutions.

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding the design for enhancements in the product and developing test strategies and test automation accordingly; participating actively in design discussions
  • Analyzing business requirements, discussing impacted areas, suggesting solutions to ensure proper manual and automated testing to ensure high quality
  • Stabilizing and maintaining the automation test product suite
  • Actively participating in SCRUM ceremonies, providing constructive suggestions and inputs
  • Developing testable, reusable, efficient, legible code for enhancements in product suite
  • Actively contributing to meet the team commitments
  • Coaching and mentoring Test Automation Engineers

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical discipline or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience in software development or software test automation
  • Experience capturing test requirements, documenting test cases, building test plans using automated tools like PlayWrite, Cucumber, Appium, and/or Selenium, as well as building and testing applications as part of a continuous delivery lifecycle
  • Extensive experience with test automation technologies like Postman, Locust, Gatling, or JMeter, as well as in test driven and behavioral driven development
  • Knowledgeable in developing and consuming RESTful web services and in domain driven design and service-oriented architecture
  • Extensive experience of scripting languages like Python, Ruby, or Groovy with software development in large-scale, cloud environments
  • Experience with proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git/GitHub
  • Experience with deployment automation
  • Previous experience leading test automation teams
  • Exceptional attention to detail, excellent work ethic and drive, great interpersonal skills, team oriented, and demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the education industry and with e-learning technologies
  • Working knowledge with behavior-driven development (BDD)
