As a Scrum Master, you will serve as the servant leader for delivery teams by ensuring clear communication and helping the team reach its goals. You will coach the team on Agile methodologies and engineering good practices with a focus on predictable, quality delivery and continuous improvement. You’ll facilitate team productivity by removing impediments and ensuring flexibility to rapidly respond to changes both within the team and across multiple teams.
In line with our adoption of scaled agility based on LeSS (Large Scale Scrum), you will work within a team of Scrum Masters that collaborates on a strategy of development of both individual teams and the whole tribe. You must be and act as a true agilist understanding the principles of scaling by simplification, not as a project manager nor a secretary in disguise.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Work as one of three Scrum Masters, learn and share knowledge with each other
- Work together with a tribe of six teams and their leaders
- Asses Agile maturity within Scrum teams
- Facilitate group sessions like Scrum ceremonies, conflict resolution and decision-making
- Coach teams to improve Agile practices during daily Scrums, retrospectives, sprint planning, and reviews.
- Make sure teams focus on quality and delivering business value consistently
- Help teams proactively identify and remove impediments
- Support teams to develop their ability to clearly communicate team accomplishments, impediments, and dependencies
- Act as an influencer by implementing Agile mindset, principles, and values; help teams and the organization improve collaboration and self-organization
- Use and balance data with other factors when making decisions
The Candidate:
Required skills/qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or related work experience
- 2+ years of Agile or related experience
- Familiarity with Agile practices and enthusiasm for Agile methodologies
- Experience with scaled agility, particularly Large Scale Scrum (LeSS)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to pay accurate and precise attention to detail
- Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with the Scrum team and stakeholders
- Comfortable working with multiple teams, both in-house and remote
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Preferred skills/qualifications:
- Scrum Alliance or Scrum.org Agile Certified Professional
- Experience with LeSS + knowledge of other scaled Agile frameworks (like SAFe, FAST...)
- See yourself as a “finisher”, someone who focuses on completing tasks, ensuring quality and attention to detail, to bring work to a high standard of completion
