As a Communication Manager, you will drive our organization's internal and external communications initiatives. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that important messages are effectively communicated in the India-based offices and that our employees feel informed, engaged, and inspired. You will work closely with the corporate communications and India-based executive team to ensure they are aligned with our corporate objectives, improve employee engagement, and enhance our brand presence.

 

The ideal candidate will be key to developing a positive culture consistent with our company values. This candidate must have a positive attitude, be able to juggle multiple communications roles and have strong writing skills.

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

 

Internal Communications (80%)

  • Working with the corporate communications team to establish an India-focused internal communications strategy, working closely with the India-based leadership team. Ensuring the India teams in Bangalore and Chennai understand the corporate strategy and brand
  • Monitoring and measuring sentiment in the Bangalore and Chennai offices to ensure employees are engaged, informed, and inspired
  • Reviewing and approving Win Wire posts. Managing logo images for Win Wire (download, resize, and save to our shared files)
  • Maintaining corporate calendar on Intranet (company holidays, internal events) – quarterly updates
  • Reposting bulletins on our Intranet news feed
  • Updating “hot on social” section of the Intranet homepage
  • Collecting employee photos for quarterly All-Hands slideshows (pulling from social, collecting from regional POCs, saving to shared files)
  • Monthly Cadence Report: Creating a report or graph to track our monthly metrics (email, Intranet, events, watercooler activity)
  • Virtual event support (managing recordings, uploading recordings to Intranet)

 

External Communications (20%)

  • Supporting regional media relations activities, press interviews, or office-based events
  • Supporting social media programs, including calendar, post-development, and strategy
  • Developing content and supporting LinkedIn Life pages for Corporate, India, Colombia, Czech, and Interns. Updating and maintaining LinkedIn Product page
  • Developing a strategic plan working with the creative and video teams to improve and expand YouTube content and thus followers

 

This role requires approximately 15-20% travel.

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications or equivalent work experience
  • 5-8 years of experience in marketing, preferably in the education and/or technology industry
  • Familiar with CRM platform (i.e. Salesforce)
  • Ability to travel at least 4-8 times a year (15-20%) for annual company conferences and regional events
  • Familiar with database management and list segmentation
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Flexible and can adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to accommodate other points of view and accept feedback
  • Accustomed to working within budget requirements and adapting as needed
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Canva, SharePoint, and Contact Monkey
  • Ability to anticipate needs based on campaign and communication calendars
  • Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and short- and long-term planning skills
  • Experience with marketing automation software and setting up and deploying marketing programs and tactics, including social media and email campaigns
