As a member of our Infrastructure automation team, you will have the opportunity to join the group responsible for automating an industry-leading SaaS application used by millions of students every day.  We are looking for candidates to drive, design, and implement at scale our DevOps methodology. Qualified candidates will bring the latest software development, automation, and deployment practices and apply them every day. 

As DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting an always-available cloud-based SaaS platform. You will join a scrum team of fellow engineers following DevOps philosophies. You will work closely with engineers to support packaging, deployment, monitoring, and system reliability. You’ll bring the latest tools and techniques to achieve optimal results for Cloud applications as well as identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for deployment, management, and tooling. You will also develop tools to improve efficiency and provide self-service options and stay up to date on the latest Cloud development and deployment technologies.

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above
  • 2-5+ years of experience in DevOps of large-scale web applications
  • An understanding of Agile/SCRUM practices
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services
  • Light experience with Linux in a production environment
  • Light experience troubleshooting and resolving application and/or system-related issues
  • Familiarity with configuration management using Chef
  • Light experience with large-scale software development processes and multi-region deployments
  • An understanding of continuous integration systems (Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.)
  • Ability to script in python or ruby
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Self-starter and collaborative team player



Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Java and/or web development experience
