Are your talents being fully utilized? BKF is looking for an Engineering Manager in Water Resources (Pipeline Design)

BKF has immediate openings for senior-level civil engineers with strong technical abilities, and experienced in Water Resources project design, specifically pipeline design, and able to lead a team of engineers on small and large projects. Preferred location is Pleasanton with option to work from Redwood City, San Francisco, and San Jose.

Responsibilities:
   

Technical:   

  • Pipeline design experience for water, wastewater, and storm drain systems from the ground up.
  • Pipeline condition assessment, retrofit, new design, hydraulic modeling, control valves. 
  • Preparation of contract documents (plans, specifications, and cost estimates), and provide design services during bidding and construction. 
  • Work closely with sub-consultants (geotechnical and structural engineers), as needed.
  • Prepare technical sections of proposals and participate in interview presentations.
  • Review and supervise technical aspects of work.
  • Oversee design approach and project delivery.
  • Provide quality control reviews. 

Management & Marketing:   

  • Represent BKF in communications with the client from initial marketing efforts through entire course of agreement activity.
  • Communicate regularly with the assigned BKF Principal and Water Resources group leader relative to project status and performance.
  • Manage all aspects of assigned BKF project. 
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced staff members and coordinate staff resources with other groups.  

Qualifications:   

  • Must have strong technical experience delivering detailed designs, plans, and specifications for municipal and private utility infrastructure projects, including pipeline design for storm drain, potable water, recycled water, and wastewater systems.
  • Experience in design of pressure and gravity pipe systems.
  • Experience with permitting for California projects is a strong plus. 
  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABT accredited curriculum or equivalent.
  • Applicant must be a registered Civil Engineer (PE) in the state of California.
  • 8-12 years of professional experience preferred.

Pay:   

  • The typical base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $154,000 annualized depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. This is a salaried position paid biweekly.
