The Role  

   

The Sr. Learning and Development Specialist, has a key role in providing a full range of service to advance the talent development strategy which focuses on continuous career and organizational development.  This includes working in partnership to assess business needs; designing, developing and delivering educational and/or organizational development solutions aimed at achieving the desired business outcomes; and evaluating the impact of learning/organizational development solutions at the appropriate levels (individual, team and organization).  

Responsibilities  

  • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify learning gaps and performance improvement opportunities
  • Design and develop engaging and effective learning programs that align with organizational goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with internal leadership, stakeholders, and subject matter experts and external vendor partners to gather content and ensure accuracy and relevance in learning materials
  • Utilize instructional design principles to create interactive and learner-centered training materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led sessions, and blended learning solutions
  • Consult on the curation of learning pathways and curricula to support acquisition of knowledge and skills
  • Implement and deliver company-wide employee learning and leader development programs through various channels, such as virtual classrooms, self-paced modules, and in-person workshops
  • Be a Master Trainer for specific courses or programs by participating in program development as a subject matter expert, conducting Train-the-Trainer sessions, and supporting new facilitators in delivery of course or program content
  • Develop and coach colleagues through peer-to-peer mentoring
  • Prepare business leaders and other SMEs to serve as leaders-as-teachers or to act as Guides or Producers for Leadership Development programs
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives using a variety of assessment methods and make data-driven recommendations for improvement
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in learning and development and incorporate innovative approaches into learning solutions
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to learners, including coaching, mentoring, and performance support resources
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, leadership, and stakeholders, to ensure learning initiatives align with organizational strategies and objectives
  • Manage learning projects, including timelines, resources, and budgets, to ensure successful delivery
  • Support and enhance employee career growth utilizing assessments and creating individual development plans (IDP).
  • Can lead projects with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate high level of confidentiality.
  • Regular and reliable attendance in the office is required

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities  

  • Proven experience as a Learning Consultant, Facilitator, Instructional Designer, or similar role.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively influence and drive ground-breaking change; manage change effectively gaining buy-in and commitment quickly
  • Track record of planning and managing projects and/or multiple priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Partners effectively and builds strong relationships with credibility and trust
  • Results-oriented thought partner with the ability to proactively manage issues, risks, challenges and barriers; knows when to raise issues
  • Stays current with industry trends to ensure relevant delivery and timely content
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, listening skills, and the ability to interact with diverse audiences
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia platforms and methods
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives
  • Skilled in balancing collaboration with individual decisiveness
  • Excellent planning and consulting skills, including successful assessment of situations and data incorporating systemic thinking.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and learning technologies.
  • Experience with a Learning Management System and other learning technologies
  • Proficiency in designing and developing engaging e-learning modules using authoring tools (e.g., Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate Storyline).
  • E-learning/Video course development using common authoring tools preferred.
  • Experience with graphic design elements appropriate for online instruction preferred.

   

Education   

Experience   

Degree: Bachelor’s degree; CPLP, PHR/SHRM-CP, or other similar certifications preferred   

Years: 5+ Years of corporate/business learning and development  

Field: Business, psychology, industrial relations or a related field.  

Field: Proven experience as a Learning Consultant, Facilitator, Instructional Designer, or similar role.
