Galley Dishwasher: Riverboats at  the Gateway Arch ($15.28/hr +$500 Hiring Incentive)

 

Mission

The Galley Dishwasher is responsible for assisting kitchen staff by properly sanitizing and organizing all dishes, galley and storage areas on their shift and completing daily tasks in order to provide meals for guests of the Riverboats at the Gateway Arch and Paddlewheel Café.

Expectations

  • Ensure all dishes, including pots, plans, flatware, and glasses, are cleaned to the highest standard of quality and cleanliness.
  • Correctly place and store clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas.
  • Stock serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas with necessary dishes and utensils.
  • Clean trash receptacles with water or steam.
  • Move dishwashing supplies and equipment from storage to work area.
  • Maintain a clean work station area, including kitchen equipment, tables, and shelves.
  • Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
  • Maintain stock of cleaning supplies.
  • May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed.
  • Maintain adherence to all applicable FDA and St. Louis Health Department regulations.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
  • Must pass alcohol and drug screening.
  • Must pass basic background check.
  • If not ServSafe Food Handler Certified, will need to obtain certification on the job.
  • Willing to work on a moving vessel in water and outdoors (hot and cold environments).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for interacting effectively with guests and coworkers.
  • Ability to work a dynamic schedule; mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to break down and clean fryers, grills, ovens and hoods.
  • Ability to clean ceiling vents, cooler vents, shelves and commercial food drains.
  • Knowledge of food service health and safety best practices.
  • Familiar with general kitchen equipment and appliances.
  • Able to carry/lift up to 50lbs.
  • Able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to continuously walk up and down stairs, bend, stoop, and work in tight spaces.

$500 Hiring Incentive

  • 1st payment - $150 following successful completion of 30 days of employment
  • 2nd payment - $150 following successful completion of 90 days of employment
  • 3rd payment - $200 following successful completion of 150 days of employment

*Employees must work at least 15.5 hours per week to be eligible

Typical Summer Season (Memorial Day to Labor Day) Hours of Operation are 7 a.m. to 1 a.m.

 

Typical Winter Season (Labor Day to Memorial Day) Hours of Operation are 7 a.m. to 1 a.m.

 

Closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day
