We are currently looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team, based out of our Irving, TX HQ. 
  
Position and Scope:  
  
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the entire payroll process, including preparation, distribution, taxes, and reporting. This role entails the computation of wages, overtime, and deductions to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. This role will be an integral part of the human resources team.  
  
As a Payroll Specialist, your daily responsibilities will include:  
  • Verify timekeeping records are properly prepared and approved by managers
  • Process and reconcile multi-state bi-weekly and monthly payroll for about 200 employees.
  • Process levies and garnishments
  • Verify all benefit platforms are updated and reconcile benefit deductions between payroll system and benefit platform
  • Register and maintain correspondence for taxing authority in all states
  • Review and validate employee tax information and verify compliance with federal, state and local payroll laws
  • Run and maintain all payroll reports/files and research payroll exceptions.
  • Use problem-solving skills to research issues, provide operational subject matter expert expertise on payroll processing, and proactively communicate with internal and external business partners
  • Record and address employee payroll questions
  • Assist with quarterly and annual audit engagement
  • Review and maintain quarterly report files
  • Perform other duties as assigned
As a Payroll Specialist, your background should include:  
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance in preferred or experience
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus
  • Minimum 5 years experience in multi-state payroll processing.
  • Knowledge of HR/payroll practices, laws, policies and procedures
  • Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and/or other payroll software
  • Ability to work independently and fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, Trustworthy, reliable, analytical, and organized
