Compliance Intern

Location:  Wanchai, Hong Kong Category: Compliance Employment Category: Parttime-Temporary

Description

BioMarin is the world leader in delivering therapeutics that provide meaningful advances to patients who live with serious and life-threatening rare genetic diseases. We target diseases that lack effective therapies and affect relatively small numbers of patients, many of whom are children. These conditions are often inherited, difficult to diagnose, progressively debilitating and have few, if any, treatment options. BioMarin will continue to focus on advancing therapies that are the first or best of their kind.

By providing a foundation for all operations company wide, BioMarin’s General and Administrative teams support our mission of providing first and best in class therapeutics to patients who live with rare diseases. Our teams include groups such as finance, legal, human resources, corporate compliance and ethics, and information technology. Come join our team and make a meaningful impact on patients’ lives.

Summary

BioMarin is offering paid internships in its APAC headquarters in Hong Kong for graduate students, advanced undergraduates, and recent graduates.

Nothing looks better on a resume than "been there, done that."  Companies look for initiative and drive in a new employee and often find their employees from their pool of interns.

Period

This internship would be throughout the year.

Qualifications

The internship provides significant educational and professional experience for fresh graduates or students with a background in Law, Finance, or Corporate Governance and Compliance and strong APAC language skills (skills in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Indonesian, or Thai would particularly be a plus).

Responsibilities

By the end of the internship, our intern should have an excellent idea of what an in-house compliance person at a company is all about.

  1. As an intern, you will be part of the APAC Compliance team and receive practical experience by engaging in a variety of diverse and challenging activities in Asia Pacific.
  2. You will work closely on an array of projects concerning business operations, the rule of law, and governance in this region (including promotion codes and regulations, anti-bribery and corruption, data privacy and protection, etc.).
  3. You can also expect to do real work for real (internal) customers, which may include conducting research, managing systems and processes, writing memos, drafting analysis, attending meetings with stakeholders (both internal and external) from Hong Kong and abroad, among other responsibilities.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
