- CDO: Drive strategic prioritization in time and resource allocations by focusing CDO inputs on highest priority workstreams and triaging or assuming accountability for all else.
- GD: Accelerate delivery of Global Development commitments by proactively identifying and removing barriers, aligning stakeholders and orchestrating execution across the portfolio.
- BioMarin: Enable enterprise success by representing and advancing Global Development objectives across internal and external engagements, strengthening partnerships and alignment.
- Drive/Support the continuous evolution of GD and CDO objectives, ensuring tight alignment with enterprise strategy and seamless adoption by the GD leadership team (GD LT).
- Establish and uphold standards for CDO meeting participation by ensuring all engagements have clear strategic value and aligned outcomes.
- Synthesize nuanced context and strategic imperatives for each engagement, providing high-level briefings to maximize the impact of CDO contributions.
- Orchestrate GD LT operating rhythm, including agenda design, action tracking, metrics development, and streamlined execution of strategic initiatives.
- Lead the GD LT OKR process, ensuring measurable progress, focused interventions, and accountability across initiatives.
- Vet and elevate all materials destined for CDO review, ensuring strategic maturity and relevance; guide content owners toward readiness when necessary.
- Partner with FP&A business partners to drive quarterly financial processes.
- Act as a first line of defense for issues approaching the office of the CDO; lead resolution through cross-functional influence and independent action.
- Provide executive oversight for high-impact, cross-functional initiatives and special projects spanning the GD portfolio.
- Enable agile organizational shifts and operational pivots, proactively implementing change to support evolving priorities.
- Partner with Business Development and other stakeholders to enable interrogation and successful integration of external innovations.
- Develop high-quality executive materials and narratives for internal and external forums including quarterly calls and Board of Directors meetings, representing the voice and strategy of the CDO and GD function.
- Cascade strategic messaging across the GD organization to maintain cohesion with enterprise direction and alignment across GD sub-functions.
- Act as a central point of contact, facilitating communication between the CDO, the GD LT team, and other stakeholders.
- Design and execute coordinated GD-wide engagement experiences, including recognition initiatives and cultural moments that reinforce team identity and values.
- Cultivate strong enterprise partnerships—especially with other Business Enterprise leaders, Strategic Planning Officers/Chiefs of Staff, People, and Communications functions—to align GD operations and culture with broader organizational standards and aspirations.
- Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree in medical or scientific disciplines preferred
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, and/or management consulting; BioMarin experience a plus; demonstrated ability to partner with and influence BioMarin executive leadership and BOD members, a plus
- Strategic thinker with experience developing and implementing cross-functional plans[
- Proven project management skills; Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholder alignment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; Capable of crafting compelling presentations and conveying complex information into clear, concise narratives that resonate with variety of audiences
- Energetic and hands-on self-starter with a desire to learn new things quickly
- Ability to navigate organizational complexities, recommend solutions, and promote collaboration across functions
- Strong leadership skills; Ability to influence without authority
- Prior experience in a management role, either directly or indirectly
- Strong drive for results; Operates effectively in a fast-paced environment and delivers results while balancing multiple priorities
- Requires weekly onsite presence
