Brand Lead Enzyme Therapies (Italy)
 
The position is based in Italy, within BioMarin Commercial Organization and reporting directly to the Enzyme Therapies BU Lead & Country Manager

This role provides a full support to BU Lead both in lifecycle management and preparation for new launches, she/he is responsible for leveraging market research and analytics critical to direct brand strategies and optimizing market development plan and tactics in 3 Enzymes-related therapeutic areas such as: Mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS), Phenylketonuria (PKU), Neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis type 2 (CLN-2). Analyzes complex problems and situations, provides logical recommendations and leads any required action planning. Accountable for successful management of projects with an ability to push a project to completion. Responsible for establishing effective working relationships with Key Opinion Leaders. The role is also responsible for the development and localization of promotional/educational materials in Italy. This individual will also serve as contact person for maintaining cross-functional relationships among different departments in Italy and aligning with the International BU Team.
 
The role will have high visibility and clear accountability for full portfolio (5 brands) transformational projects aimed at supporting the goal of allowing broader access to care, in co-ordination with Medical, Public Affairs, Government and Access Departments at BioMarin. Cross functional activities may include disease awareness campaigns, screening initiatives and information about linkage to care. 
 
 
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Enzyme Therapies Lead & Country Manager, this role will be responsible for the national project management of the franchise and will ensure planning, execution and follow-up of major marketing initiatives to successfully position BioMarin and effectively supporting commercial team to reach Enzyme Therapies BU goals. She/he will coordinate cross functional team stakeholder insights, identifying and prioritizing different patient/stakeholder segments, thus establishing a broad market understanding that supports effective resource allocation, developing and implementing communication strategies accordingly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support BU Lead as main reference point for Global Marketing Team and other functions (e.g. Finance, Compliance)
  • Own Brand Plan design and implementation, providing key insights and inputs and monitoring execution, facilitating the cross functional budget allocation exercise
  • Drive Forecasting Process in alignment with local and global team
  • Management of interactions with KOLs and Access stakeholders, together with facilitation of PAGs engagement
  • Development and localization of promotional and educational materials
  • Establishing networking activities (internally and externally), supporting field force organization in organizing round tables, advisory board, press events, expert roadshows and congresses
  • Coordination and validation of local, digital tactics (websites, online tools, webinars) in alignment with Corporate Dept.
  • Manage suppliers/agencies engagement to ensure that they meet our needs consistently with BioMarin Values
  • Plan and execute high impact projects, managing and controlling budgets. Identify appropriate performance parameters and review criteria. Provide regular updates to senior management and provide clear recommendations for change/improvement/innovation
 
COMPETENCIES
  • Previous background in pharmaceutical/biotech industry in brand management positions, including digital marketing and/or public relations skills is required
  • Proven ability in project management, supporting sales tactics and brilliant in communication 
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong marketing profile and possibly worked in both business analytics and marketing functions leading key projects; solid track record, great managerial autonomy
  • Experience in Rare Disease would be appreciated but not mandatory
  • Confident, proactive, adaptable and agile approach with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
 
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
  • Bachelor Degree in Biological Sciences or Economics / Marketing required (MBA or other business degree a plus)
  • A strong networker and influencer with ability to work across the company matrix (all levels/functions)
  • Able to demonstrate excellence in project management and effective communication
