About Technical Operations
BioMarin’s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. These engineers, technicians, scientists and support staff build and maintain BioMarin’s cutting-edge manufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to ensure we meet regulatory standards, and procure the needed goods and services to support manufacturing and coordinating the worldwide movement of our drugs to patients.
Business Operations Lead- Site Engagement
Closing date: Friday 17th January 2025
- Develop and implement a communication strategy and an annual site communications plan which will ensure key local and global communications reach the full site population
- Work closely with the Site Leadership team, flow teams and functional teams to enhance communication across the site
- Develop a close partnership with global counterparts to ensure the site is closely integrated into the global communications plans and key global communications are shared locally
- Support leadership team with development of email communications, social media posts, town hall content and videos
- Expand the use of various communications channels and methodologies to reach as many of the site population as possible considering we run a 24/7 operation
- Maintain and manage internal communication channels, including newsletters, intranet, and digital signage
- Partner with Corporate Communications team to support integration of site communication into global communications plans and enhance our social media presence
- Ensure the site is compliant with internal communications processes and procedures
- Support site Employee Resource Groups with communications about events and initiatives.
- Define measures to assess the effectiveness of communications, work with the team to apply key learnings and continuously improve future efforts
- Support with the creation and submission of award applications
- Lead the planning, organisation, and execution of all site events, including corporate meetings, social gatherings, and community outreach programs
- Ensure all events are aligned with the company’s goals and objectives and meet corporate policy requirements
- Act as single point of contact for other groups to ensure a successful event (e.g. Corporate Communications, Corporate Compliance)
- Manage event budgets, timelines, and post-event evaluations
- Oversee the creation, implementation and ongoing maintenance of a site branding plan to capture key stakeholder stories onsite (employees, patients and our E2E business)
- Solid understanding of internal communication tools and processes.
- Exceptional written, verbal and copywriting capabilities in English
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strongly skilled in the development of various communication type such as PowerPoint presentations, email announcements, newsletters, video messages, Town Hall meetings, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Excellent ability to influence and execute positive change.
- Positive, confident, collaborative and respectful demeanour, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strategic thinker, with a proven track record working within cross-functional teams.
- Strong experience working closely with senior leadership from a communications and creative perspective.
- Accountability, with a strong desire to contribute, be held accountable and be rewarded for delivering results.
