Description

The Filling Operator I supports the manufacturing of Prepared Culture Media products in a cGMP-regulated environment. This role is responsible for operating, monitoring, cleaning, and maintaining production equipment used in filling, bottling, and plating processes. The successful candidate will ensure product quality, follow established procedures, and contribute to a safe and efficient manufacturing operation.

What You'll Do

  • Operate and monitor filling, bottling, and plating equipment according to established procedures.
  • Assist with equipment setup, inspection, cleaning, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Complete production batches and ensure accurate, timely documentation of manufacturing activities.
  • Perform material handling, line clearance, in-process inspections, and reconciliation tasks.
  • Support area housekeeping and 5S activities to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Follow cGMP, safety, and quality requirements at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and operational goals.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around operating equipment.

Preferred

  • Experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food production, laboratory, or related environments.
  • Experience working in a cGMP-regulated environment.

The estimated wage range for this role based in Illinois is between $23.20 – 27.80. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
