Position Summary
Manages all service needs of the installed base of instruments in the St. Louis site. The activities include installation, maintenance and repair of the instrument base within the assigned area, as well as, the administrative actions required to accurately reflect these activities. Management of the Calibration and Preventative Maintenance programs for the IRC.

Local Position Duties

  1. Provides internal service which consists of installations, removals, upgrades, preventative maintenance, and on demand service requests for the instruments installed at the St. Louis site.
  2. Diagnosis and repair instrument malfunctions to the board or subassembly level and ensures that instruments operate optimally in all performance areas
  3. Manages the calibrated items and Preventative Maintenance items for the IRC department.
  4. Maintains accurate records of their activity and ensures timely completion of all scheduled activities
  5. Maintains and controls spare parts inventory at levels compatible with repair and financial objectives.
  6. Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education, Training and Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in service or refurbishment activities

Preferred Education, Training and Experience

  • Associates Degree in Technology/Engineering field or Bachelor's Degree in Technology/Engineering field and knowledge of service and repair.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Consistently upholds and reflects the core ethical principles and values that bioMérieux promotes.
  • Skilled in MS Office tools to include but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of service and repair of St. Louis based instrumentation is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance and calibration systems and processes is required
  • Must possses strong analytical skills, as well as written and oral communication skills.

Working Conditions (Summary)

Ability to remain in stationary position, either sitting or standing, for prolonged periods; ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like; wear PPE correctly most of the day; operate heavy machinery; and adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. Domestic travel required 0% of time. International travel required 0% of time. Total travel: 0%. Other physical requirements: Open text field.

The estimated pay range for this role is between $30.00 and $45.00/hour. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
