Pay: $23/hr
Main Accountabilities:   
  • Perform and document all work in a safe manner in accordance with the company policy and procedures.
  • Perform work as described in company policies and procedures including, but not limited to: 
    • Accurately prepare media and sub-components in a timely manner. based on production schedule.
    • Perform filtration of finished and semi-finished media.
    • Verify that all media is appropriately labeled and stored based on all regulatory and Master Formulary specifications.
    • Calibration, operation, and cleaning of equipment such as balances, pH meters, steam kettles, peristaltic pumps, and stir plates, as required. Inform management of items in need of repair.
    • Accurately deliver and setup finished media according to the production schedule.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment by following the standards in the department 5S guidelines - before, during and after production runs. This includes but not limited to: 
  • Cleaning and organizing lab workspace.
  • Cleaning instrumentation/equipment.
  • Sweeping and/or mopping floor as needed.
  • Organizing and maintaining workstations according to 5s principles.
  • Any unspecified actions required to maintain 5s compliance.
  • Use and storage of materials according to Master Formulary specifications and FEFO guidelines.
  • Reasonable, reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential job function required for this position.
  • Performs other duties as requested by management.
Studies/Experience, Skills and Qualifications:   
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field required. 
    Degree must be obtained by start date in May of 2024.
    Biology/Chemistry preferred.
  • One year industrial or college laboratory experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment towards the completion of shared goals.
  • Ability to work in a complex, diverse environment with multiple and changing demands.
  • Excellent time management, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Good Laboratory/Manufacturing Practices, including aseptic technique preferred
  • Working knowledge of FDA and ISO guidelines preferred.
  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, etc.)

  • Work involves using computer applications.
  • Work involves standing for extended periods of time.
  • Work involves handling antibiotics and hazardous materials.
  • May be exposed to odors during media production.
  • Lab work is performed wearing a hairnet, safety glasses and a lab coat.
  • May be required to work extended and/or overtime hours. 
  • Reasonable, reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential job function required for this position.
  • Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds. 
  • Excellent personal hygiene required.
  • May be exposed to hot and cold environments.
