The position will cover Southern California (Santa Maria and areas south of it), Arizona, and Hawaii. The selected candidate must be based in Southern California (LA or San Diego)
The Food Account Manager IND - West position will establish and execute field sales strategies that support the revenue targets and growth objectives, marketing initiatives, and strategic plans of the company. This is accomplished by managing territory accounts to meet or exceed division revenue targets. The primary purpose of the Account Manager will be for planning, organizing and executing programs that generate new prospects and have full sales ownership of territory accounts. The person in this role will be a fully-functional member of the Food sales team. This person will work collaboratively with AMs, BDMs, RSMs, CAMs, Marketing, CSO and Scientific Affairs.
 
Primary Duties
  1. The Account Manager Industry, Food is responsible for the total territory management of their geographical territory as designed by the Food Regional Service Manager (RSM) for all US Food Accounts.
  2. Maintain and grow existing business, while generating new business and revenue through selling and placing instruments and reagents.
  3. The AM is responsible for the territory achievement of revenue target and growth goal, at least 100% A/B achievement.
  4. Work with Sales & Marketing management in developing new or improved sales/support tools.
  5. Understand market trends, key investment drivers, customer challenges, and customer journey. Identify the key competitors, players, and their supply chains.
  6. Adopt a team approach; work with team in pursuing common goals.
  7. Support and encourage team support to create a unified message/response with FSE, FAS, AM, BDM, CAM and Management to customers.
  8. Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree required
    • OR HS diploma/GED plus 4 additional years in a B2B sales environment, or 4 additional years of experience in food safety laboratory or operations, with ability to build and maintain customer relationships, manage complex accounts, and achieve sales objectives
  • 2+ years of experience in a B2B sales environment, or 2+ years of experience in food safety laboratory or operations, with ability to build and maintain customer relationships, manage complex accounts, and achieve sales objectives.
  • Food safety sales background highly preferred.

  • Advanced skills in MS Office tools to include but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel: demonstrates deep knowledge; manages complex tasks and integrates multiple tools independently

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  •  Ability to remain in stationary position, either sitting or standing, for prolonged periods.
  •  Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like.

Domestic Travel: 75%; Company car provided

The estimated salary range for this role based in FIELD is between $83,500 – 134,500. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
