Description

This engineer works within a project team, generally under the leadership of a more experienced engineer (e.g., lead engineer, senior engineer, systems engineer). This engineer uses experience and education to perform the types of engineering activities which are generally considered within the realm of electrical engineering. This engineer is expected to work and communicate well with other team members and leadership as assigned to meet the goals of the project, department, and company.

 

  • Works on a team of multi-disciplined engineers (e.g., mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, systems engineers, other electrical engineers, biochemists).
  • Relies on experience, industry best practices, and mentorship of senior engineers to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design medical diagnostic instruments and related equipment with a primary focus on PCBA design.
  • Supports/troubleshoots existing and new products in the manufacturing department, as needed.
  • Creates test cases for design verification.
  • Provides thorough design documentation.
  • May be involved in EMC testing and troubleshooting.
  • Performs all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of the quality system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a related field, including performance consistent with said experience.

Experience with the following is preferred:

  • Altium Designer
  • Schematic capture
  • PCB layout
  • Analog circuit design
  • Digital circuit design
  • Circuit simulation
  • Power supply design and analysis
  • Control systems
  • HDL, Verilog
  • Multi-layer PCBAs
  • High-speed design
  • Soldering, SMT assembly and rework
  • Circuit debug and troubleshooting
  • Sensors/transducers
  • Displays
  • DC motors and motor control
  • Cable harness design
  • Knowledge of C/C++/Python/LUA
  • Regulatory and compliance (CE, UL, FCC, RoHS, EMC/EMI)
  • Component specification
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
