Job Description: 
Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of equipment shop activities related to the diagnosing and repairing of mechanical problems in motorized and specialty construction equipment. The Shop Mechanic will maintain and repair diesel trucks, ranging in size from tractor trailers, heavy duty trucks, step-vans, to pick-up trucks. The mechanic is also responsible for maintaining and repairing the mounted contractor's equipment contained on those vehicles. Equipment can also include dredging tools and machines. 
Position: Diesel Mechanic 
Where: Belmont, NC 
Pay: $21.50-28.50 per hour.

Essential Job Functions: 
  • Maintain and repair diesel trucks of varying sizes.
  • Maintain and repair contractor's equipment.
  • Maintain and repair gas generators and compressors.
Requirements: 
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Own general set of mechanic’s tools (will provide specialty tools required)
  • Ability to pass safety training exams and the background check required
  • Safety, conscientious, dependable, and quality-minded individual.
  • Troubleshooting systems to identify the point(s) of failure.
  • Tech savvy for usage of diagnostic equipment.
