The Product Marketing Manager (PMM) plays a crucial role in achieving our goal of growing our business while promoting a safer, healthier, and more productive world. The PMM will spearhead the product-related go-to-market strategy for our Industrial Segment – Big Ass Fans’ largest and most vital business unit. This role requires a detailed understanding of the market, defining our products’ position, and articulating their value to both internal teams and prospective customers. Reporting to the Senior Director, Industrial Marketing, the PMM will engage in strategic planning, team leadership, and collaborate across sales, marketing, and product management to drive market success for our portfolio. Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the strategy for new products go-to-market, positioning and messaging.
  • Manage product roadmap for product launches and new product introduction (NPI), including launch dates and positioning in the product line.
  • Lead and manage product launches:
    • Identify assets required to be produced including one-page description, 3D renderings, Photography, Brochure, Web Page(s), Email, Social Posts and Digital Ads
    • Create briefs for the creative team or external agencies to deliver each asset with messaging and positioning as expected.
    • Develop the plan and manage the timeline for delivery of all required assets for launch, ensuring that all deliverables are on time and align to the creative brief.
    • Coordinate and schedule product training and provide assets to sales teams in advance of product launch.
    • Define target audience and go-to-market channel and messaging.
    • Ensure sales teams know how to position the product and the problems it solves for the customer.
    • Coordinate with PR team on producing press releases or other media events.
    • Communicate product features, functions and overall product benefits and value in customer terminology.
    • Manage an annual product launch window by collaborating with engineering and sales teams to identify and include products that meet strategic goals or customer needs.  
    • Create competitive analysis and competitive positioning for all industrial and commercial products.
  • Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with product management, industrial creative team, and the sales leaders across the business.
  • Develop the market price positioning for products and optimize new products within the current lineup so our product lineup value is clear.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to ensure proper positioning and messaging.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure that product management delivers products that solve customer problems and are aligned with sales objectives, and communicate the status of launches and deliverables.
  • Identify and position solution opportunities for verticals within relevant customer industries and develop effective go-to-market strategies for these solutions.
  • Track and report performance of product sales against launch expectations and adjust positioning, messaging, and campaigns as necessary to ensure we achieve or exceed the planning targets and expectations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience managing a multi-product portfolio each with annual revenue over $5M.
  • 2+ years project management experience managing product go-to-market collateral
  • 3+ years of technical writing experience generating creative briefs, product value, product differentiation, and product descriptions
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience and demonstrated knowledge of product development process
  • Demonstrated experience positioning products leading with customer value.
  • 4+ years of product positioning, pricing, competitor and market analysis experience
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to increase product unit sales year-over-year after 2 years on the product being on the market.
