This position reports to the Director of Engineering.

About the Role:

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Data Engineering team. You will set the technical direction of data infrastructure development and drive excellence in at least the following ways:

  • Organize, mentor, and develop the engineers on your teams
  • Build and maintain best-in-class engineering processes to promote engineer enablement
  • Cultivate a culture of excellence by recruiting and hiring great engineers
  • Work with Business Partners and Product Management to define key future state capabilities for commerce platforms.
  • Lead the ideation, technical development, and launch of key capabilities. Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of these products.
  • Influence and direct technical vision across all of Engineering
  • Partner with multi-functional teams to drive key business results

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Managing and building out the data team 
  • Owning architecture decisions for the data platform, ensuring continuity of data and speed of access
  • Owning data OKRs and driving the team to excel at the highest level
  • Owning data lineage and security of the Data Lake
  • Owning contract management for third party data service providers

What We are Looking For:

  • Minimum 2+ years of big data engineering management experience
  • Strong knowledge in data pipelines, ETL, and the technologies to create and support them. Spark, Databricks, Airflow, Kafka, etc.
  • Passion for driving constant excellence from every engineer
  • Consistent track record of growing and sustaining a large, highly functional engineering team
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, pipelines and queues
  • Experience with data platforms at scale
  • Expertise with system architecture, application architecture, and technology evaluation at large scale
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

Bonus if You Have:

  • Functional understanding of personalization systems and applications
  • Experience with event driven architectures, pipelines and queues
  • Experience with AWS including S3, Kinesis, Lambda, and other cutting edge technology
