About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Customer Insights Researcher that is driven and shows passion for uncovering why consumers do what they do and how to elevate these insights into navigating the business. This researcher will be providing critical qualitative and quantitative VOC insight across the business.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Design and launch a mix of qualitative and quantitative customer research (e.g. focus groups, user interviews, surveys, ethnographies, etc.) to understand the voice of the customer across key touchpoints, in order to gather feedback, pain points, and behavior trends, and to provide customer insight around new UI/UX, product features, and new business opportunities
  • Help with large strategic projects, such as actionable customer segmentation and portfolio and brand strategy, to influence brand positions and/or new product development
  • Drive pricing analysis research for new products, subscription offerings, etc.
  • Collaborate with Data and Marketing Analytics to tell the full customer story, in order to influence business direction
  • Collaborate with Product, Brand, and Merch Teams to understand key business questions, translate into research plans, execute and storytell the insights in a recommendation-based approach
  • Communicate customer insight effectively to XFN business teams and executive leadership in order to influence key decisions, to ultimately drive business goals and outcomes

What We are Looking For:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience performing consumer insight research for an e-commerce or internet company
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master's in subjects such as Math (Statistics, Operations Research),  Engineering (Computer Science, HCI), or a Social Science with an emphasis on research and with a track record of academic excellence
  • Experience working with wide range of qualitative (ethnographies, online boards, diaries, focus groups) and quantitative methods (segmentation, pricing, conjoint, max-diff, concept testing) and knowledge of which methods to use to answer specific business questions
  • Have worked with text mining and data wrangling of unstructured data at scale, such as user reviews and survey comments
  • Experience working with Voice of Customer / Customer Experience platforms, survey and reporting, and data visualization tools (e.g. SurveyMonkey, Tableau)
  • Comfortable with conducting ‘in-house’ research (e.g. writing discussion guides/surveys, programming, analyzing data/results, moderating)
  • Experience working in ‘fuzzy front-end’ type of roles to iterate on concepts and test with consumers
  • An effective communicator that can help make complicated insights understood and actionable
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally including Product, Brand, UX, and Analytics teams

Bonus if You Have:

  • Expertise/experience in survey methodology such as questionnaire design, bias correction, sampling, and/or discrete choice a plus
  • UX Research experience is a plus
  • Ability to synthesize and visually storytell insights is a big plus
