Position Overview
Beyond Limits is looking for early-career data scientists who thrive on new challenges and seek out-of-the-box innovative ideas. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop new skills while given flexibility to innovate and shine. You will work in small teams, allowing your voice to be heard and your ideas measured. Our Software Engineers and Data Scientists work closely together, so the ability to work in a collaborative manner is a skill valued greatly at our company. You will partner with senior Data Scientists to collect, process, and analyze data from projects relating to the energy, healthcare, finance, logistics, and transportation fields.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ingest, organize, and analyze data from various sources
  • Utilize machine learning, statistical and time series models
  • Implement in-house AI technology
  • Build visualizations to convey results to the internal team as well as external clients
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest ML/AI techniques
  • Work in a highly collaborative environment to brainstorm, design, implement, and deliver solutions to challenging problems
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Statistics/Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering)
  • Familiar with common data science techniques: Linear & logistic regression, Classification, Tree algorithms (e.g. Random Forest, Xgboost), Artificial neural networks, Time Series Analysis, Clustering algorithms (e.g. K-means)
  • Strong programming experience in Python with proficiency in Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib/Seaborn/Plotly, Sklearn, Ability to code in R/Matlab is a plus
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and methodologies (MLOps, AWS)
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Competitive GPA and academic track record
  • 2+ years of experience solving data science problems
  • Experience working in an industry setting
  • Domain expertise in energy, healthcare, finance, and/or logistics
  • Research experience with high impact publications
Please note: This position is located in our Glendale, CA headquarters and is eligible to participate in the company's hybrid 3/2 work model.
