Principal Systems Integration and Test Engineer

System Engineering Annapolis Junction, Maryland



Provide leadership within a fast-paced, end-to-end testing environment. The integration and test lead (I&T) is responsible for working closely with the system engineering teams and stakeholders to devise test objectives, create organizational test policies, and develop test strategies and plans. The Lead will also work closely with software developers and scrum masters in an agile software development environment. As the Lead, you will:

  • Oversee configuration management of tests
  • Evaluate alternative COTS/GOTS solutions
  • Ensure test traceability
  • Develop software baselines across all test phases
  • Oversee and report test progress, and product test status and results
  • Infuse test automation into the testing process

  • Fourteen or more years’ experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity (within the Federal Government is preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years in testing through a full system development life cycle including designing, developing and implementing test plans, test cases, and test processes
  • Experience developing and enhancing test plans and procedures that define test strategies and coverage to include, development testing of system requirements, functional requirements
  • Experience in documenting test results for corrective actions, reporting and audits
  • Experience testing systems from an existing system and functional specifications
  • Experience developing test cases and plans from requirements documentation
  • Experience using automated test tools
  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence
  • Experience with several of the following:
    • Performance / load / stress testing
    • Data interface and migration testing
    • User interface testing
    • Security testing
    • Code coverage tools
    • Systems integration testing
Preferably, the Lead will also have experience with:
  • Working in a Linux environment
  • Knowledge of GWT and Git
  • Database knowledge, particularly Oracle, MongoDB, and MySQL
  • Automated test platforms, such as Jenkins

A bachelor’s degree in one of the following:
  • System Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Information Systems
  • Engineering Science
  • Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
Five (5) years of additional system engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
Security clearance required: Candidates must have TS/SCI with poly
