Job Description:
Our HCM/EDI Integration Consultant is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the Benefitfocus Platform and associated vendor integrations. This includes working with HR, Payroll, and Benefits teams to understand customers’ payroll and EDI needs, positioning an appropriate integrated solution and documenting technical requirements. The person in this role will need to work closely with customers and vendors, providing Benefitfocus product, implementation and technological expertise, and helping to configure and test the integration.

This position requires a self-motivated, customer-centric professional with a strong technical aptitude to relay business requirements to technical software engineers. This is a remote position and operating hours are based on Central time.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, drive and document the overall solution for the Benefitfocus client.
  • Partner with new customers during implementation or existing customers when they encounter business events that may require changes to how data is exchanged.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions, integration and functionality overviews, trainings, and implementation project meetings as required by the customer.
  • Act as a liaison to translate customer requirements and feedback to and from the customer and internal teams.
  • Refine requirements documents and gain signoff based on feedback from the customer and internal engineering reviews.
  • Formulate a plan for testing data integrations including oversight and support of component and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Triage and resolve any issues identified in the testing effort.
  • Manage customer relationships; work with customers & internal stakeholders to troubleshoot, research, and resolve questions and/or issues.
  • Manage vendors and provide support to offshore team members assisting with analysis and testing efforts.
  • Ensure a smooth transfer from the customer’s legacy system(s) to the Benefitfocus platform.
  • Seek customer and internal engineering sign-off to ensure a smooth transition of integrations to on-going production support teams.
  • Align delivery of payroll and EDI integrations with the overall milestones of an implementation project.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Operations and Sales to ensure alignment and knowledge share.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree.
  • 5-7 years of experience with data exchange.
  • Experience with systems integration and field-level interface design.
  • Customer relationship management/consulting experience.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple shifting priorities.
  • Experience with benefits administration systems and/or knowledge of benefit structures, (preferred).
  • Payroll experience, (preferred).
  • Knowledge of industry practices and standards, (preferred).
