Sales Proposal Specialist - 100% remote position

The Position:
Benefitfocus is searching for an organized, strategic, and articulate Sales Proposal Specialist to join our team. This role is focused on producing the company’s RFx responses across all business units and verticals (Employer, Health Plan, Channel, and Government & Education). The ideal candidate will have at least three years of relevant professional experience that includes, but is not limited to, proposal production, project coordination, government bids, and/or subject matter expertise with one or more Benefitfocus products.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to author, edit, and produce detailed Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), and security questionnaire responses within required deadlines
  • Manage short project timelines and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Closely partner with Sales Executives, Solutions Engineers, and Corporate Counsel to tailor RFx content based on deal win themes, technical scope, and compliance requirements
  • Support maintenance and updates of specialized RFP knowledgebase in designated technical areas (e.g., Cybersecurity, Service Centers, Enrollment, etc.)
  • Run internal deal team meetings and presentations regarding each RFx’s schedule, strategy, and status
  • While the Proposal Manager role is not client-facing and travel to client sites is not required, occasional travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Charleston, SC, will be necessary for both initial and ongoing training purposes
  • Additional Responsibilities as required

Experience & Skills:

  • · 3-5 years general software industry experience required
  • · Project coordination experience required
  • · Strong writing and copyediting skills required
  • · Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
  • · Experience in the benefits administration software industry strongly preferred
  • · Experience with Loopio, RFP360, or other RFx Knowledgebase software desired
  • · Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or related areas desired
