Staff Accountant - In Office
Description
Position Overview:
The Accounting team shares the Company’s financial status with leadership so that they can make fully-informed decisions that drive the Company’s long-term success. This position follows fundamental accounting procedures and assists the Controller, CFO and Accounting team in the day-to-day business.
Ideal candidates for this position will be highly detail-oriented, well-versed in business finances, and eager to play an instrumental role in the financial future of the Company.
Essential Functions of the Role:
- Prepare account reconciliations for all bank and balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare journal entries.
- Process all cash receipts and accounts receivable.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processing.
- Identify departmental deficiencies and make recommendations to management on system or procedural improvements.
- Assist with preparation of internal and external financial reports.
- Prepare financial statements for unconsolidated entities.
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of US GAAP accounting
- Efficient with MS Office and advanced-level Excel skills
Experience Requirements:
- At least three years of Accounting experience required.
- Experience in mortgage banking or financial services preferred.
- Experience with Bestborn Loan Vision System preferred.
Education / Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field or the equivalent combination of a college degree plus years of experience is required.
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced environment.
- Requires normal vision (corrected) both close and distant.
- Requires normal hearing levels (corrected).
- Requires working at a desk to use a phone and computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires sitting, bending.
- Works effectively with frequent interruptions.
- Lifting requirements of 10 lbs. occasionally.
- Minimal travel <5%.
