Position Overview:

Ideal candidates for this position will be experienced in underwriting conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans, highly detail-oriented with data analysis skills, and excellent communication skills.  
 
Essential Functions of the Role:
  • Review loan applications and supporting documentation for conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans to evaluate whether the loan should be approved/denied.
  • Communicate with loan originators and processors regarding loan status, approvals, suspensions, denials, and conditions.
  • Maintain a pipeline of loans adhering to posted service level agreements.
  • Remain current on loan program requirements and company policies and review documents for compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:
  • Three years mortgage underwriting experience required.
  • Two years of underwriting FHA and VA loans required.
  • National bond program experience preferred.
 
Education/Licensing Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
 
Working Conditions:
  • Fast-paced environment.
  • Requires normal vision (corrected) both close and distant.
  • Requires normal hearing levels (corrected).
  • Requires working at a desk to use a phone and computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires sitting, bending.
  • Works effectively with frequent interruptions.
  • Lifting requirements of 10 lbs. occasionally.
  • Minimal travel <5%.

 

Compensation range:  $85,000 - $95,000
