Position Overview:
Benchmark strives to maintain a dynamic environment given the frequent changes during the loan process. To oversee the success of the Closing department during these changes, the Closing Manager will oversee the production, workflow, staffing, and training of the team in addition to identifying and driving departmental growth and efficiencies. 
 
Ideal candidates for this position will have excellent organizational skills, possess a strong understanding of mortgage closing best practices, and be experienced in team management and development.
 
Essential Functions of the Role:
  • Oversee the Closing process; develop and implement new procedures to increase quality of files and departmental efficiency.  
  • Serve as a point of contact for branches and settlement agents to resolve escalated closing issues.
  • Monitor team performance metrics and address, as necessary.
  • Train new Closing and Pre-Closing team members and work on enhancing performance
  • Troubleshoot issues on highly escalated loans to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Assist with reviewing/clearing Post Closing and/or Investor items related to Closing Department
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:
  • Five (5) years of closing mortgage experience required.
  • Prior management experience preferred.

 

Education/Licensing Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
 
Working Conditions:
  • Fast-paced environment.
  • Requires normal vision (corrected) both close and distant.
  • Requires normal hearing levels (corrected).
  • Requires working at a desk to use a phone and computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires sitting, bending.
  • Works effectively with frequent interruptions.
  • Lifting requirements of 10 lbs. occasionally.
  • Minimal travel <5%.
