Position Overview:
The Closing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the excellence of loan files in the pre-closing and pre-funding stage, monitoring the pipeline of scheduled closings, and working with multiple departments and settlement agents to meet document requirements for compliance and regulatory purposes.
Ideal candidates for this position are highly detail oriented, able to prioritize and multi-task multiple items, and able to work across organizational boundaries.
 
 
Essential Functions of the Role:
  • Perform Pre-Closing and Pre-Funding quality control audits of loan files and supporting documents reviewing accuracy, completion, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Branches, Underwriting, and Closing to resolve loan file issues.
  • Review data input within LOS (Encompass) and ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in coordinating closing schedules.
  • Responsible for monitoring pipeline of scheduled closings and working with Settlement Agents to obtain signed/executed Final Closing documents.
  • Review Documents and ensure accuracy.
  • Identify error trends discovered within the auditing process and communicate suggested improvements to management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:

  • One to two years residential mortgage experience required.
  • Encompass experience preferred, but not required.
  • Closing / Funding / Post Closing experience preferred, but not required.

 

Education/Licensing Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Requires normal vision (corrected) both close and distant.
  • Requires normal hearing levels (corrected).
  • Requires working at a desk to use a phone and computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires sitting, bending.
  • Works effectively with frequent interruptions.
  • Lifting requirements of 10 lbs. occasionally.
  • Minimal travel <5%.
