Position Overview:
A key to Benchmark’s successful operations is the optimization of loan origination technology. The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for managing the delivery of business goals through gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements for the Encompass loan origination system and other lending technology, such as point of sale and third-party origination portals.
 
Ideal candidates for this position have an extensive working knowledge of loan origination processes for multi-channel, independent mortgage banks, are highly analytical with proven problem-solving ability, and strong verbal and written communication skills. 
 
Essential Functions of the Role:
  • Lead fact-gathering sessions and document business requirements with user stories and use cases for business goals.
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Assist in the creation of project plans, schedules, and other project artifacts that support the successful delivery of business goals.
  • Coordinate the delivery of business goals with ancillary, supporting departments such as new product development, training, and communications.
  • Facilitate recurring status updates to business stakeholders using meetings, one-on-one discussions, and project artifacts (e.g., status reports).
  • Provide input for the configuration of the Encompass system and other lending technology, including workflows, input forms, pipeline views, dashboards, reports, custom forms, and business rules.
  • Assist with the objective and subjective prioritization of change requests.
  • Identify areas of improvement and document recommendations and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Perform system integration testing activities and facilitate user acceptance testing with business users.
  • Analyze test results to identify defects, errors, and configuration issues, promptly developing and implementing resolutions.
  • Support the business application help desk team as a tier three (3) escalation point.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum five (5) years technical business analyst experience required.
  • Minimum five (5) years residential mortgage experience required.
  • Experience with agile processes, user stories, and use case requirements methodologies.  
 
Education/Licensing Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
