Envision yourself at Barracuda  
Barracuda is looking for an exceptional Corporate Counsel, Product Compliance, who will support Product Management and Engineering in connection with creating and bringing to market the company’s cybersecurity products and services.  This position reports to the VP, Deputy General Counsel, Product & Compliance. 
You will be a critical, highly visible, and impactful member of the legal department and a true partner to the business. This is a role in which you will interact daily with Department leaders, outside counsel, senior executives, and other business stakeholders, such as leaders and executives with Product Management, Engineering, IT, Security, and Manufacturing. This role is “hands-on” and requires that you provide a variety of compliance advice and legal services to internal clients, with a primary focus on the myriad global laws where we sell to support the company’s continued growth and expansion. 
What you’ll be working on  
Global Product Compliance – Cybersecurity, Data, and Other Global Regulations 
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to Barracuda Product Management and Engineering teams regarding global regulations applicable to Barracuda cybersecurity products.
  • Advise Barracuda Security team on regulatory obligations applicable to Barracuda Networks, Inc. and its products.
  • Support Barracuda Security in connection with cybersecurity incidents.
  • Advise Sales, Manufacturing, Procurement and others regarding product and regulatory matters.
  • Address customer and partner questions regarding Barracuda products/services and regulations.
  • Act as the lawyer within the Legal Department to address product-related questions from colleagues handling trade compliance, intellectual property (IP), privacy, sales, procurement and other matters.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and work cross-functionally to drive improvements.
  • As requested, assist on or lead projects regarding compliance with regulations applicable to Barracuda products.
  • Collaborate with others on various additional compliance matters, including without limitation, anti-corruption, environmental, and other laws and associated policies and training.
Training 
  • Develop and implement regulatory-related training for various Barracuda audiences.
  • Maintain professional knowledge in this fast-paced area.
What you bring to the role 
  • Graduated from an accredited law school with 3-5 years of relevant in-house experience in legal compliance.
  • Business acumen, with the demonstrated ability to balance business needs and legal risks.
  • Strong understanding of balancing legal concerns and compliance risks is demonstrated by a pragmatic approach to smart risk allocation.
  • Proficiency in utilizing artificial intelligence tools or a readiness and eagerness to learn and responsibly apply AI to enhance daily work. 
  • Familiarity with a variety of compliance topics, such as cybersecurity regulations (e.g., NIS2, Cyber Resilience Act), open source, intellectual property issues (copyright, domains, and trademark), regulations applicable to the US State, Local and Education (SLED) sector, global anti-corruption laws, and/or environmental laws affecting electronic products, including used electronic products. 
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal team members throughout the company.
  • Ability to drive results across geographies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills.
  • Sound judgment to interpret complicated matters and communicate effectively with executives and other stakeholders towards resolution.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time and client expectations in the face of competing demands.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of professionalism and discretion, demonstrating accountability, integrity, good judgment, and respect for confidentiality.
  • Ability to operate autonomously while being a team player who brings a positive, "get things done" attitude to the workplace and works collaboratively with internal and external clients. 
Professional Skills and Experience  
  • Substantial experience relating to hardware, software and SaaS centric issues, such as cybersecurity, environmental (for hardware), open source, intellectual property rights, etc. 
  • Capacity to evaluate and drive process and document change, when needed, to accomplish business results. 
  • Ability to provide training to the business stakeholders, including sales and services teams, engineering, product management, manufacturing, and others on processes and existing compliance, and how new legislation may affect the process.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $170,000 to $270,000 Actual compensation offered will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, the budget for the position, and applicable employment laws.

We recognize that cost-of-living disparities, market conditions, and other factors can significantly impact compensation expectations in different regions. The compensation range provided in this job description is for illustrative purposes only and may not reflect the actual compensation offers for the position in your location. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidates’ qualifications and experience.
